Nonprofit Day Shines Light on Essential Maine Organizations

Filed under: Broadreach Events — Deb @ 2:10 pm

Broadreach Family & Community Services joins the Maine Association of Nonprofits at the Maine Nonprofit Day at the State House – A day for nonprofits and government to assert their commitment to working together in order to creatively, efficiently and effectively serve the people of Maine.

Our new Governor and Legislature face many challenges this year. Maine’s safety net programs need to be re-evaluated and Maine’s nonprofit staff and volunteers are ready, willing and able to help make the complex decisions necessary to keep working families in Maine from falling through the cracks. Quality of life in Maine needs to be preserved and Maine’s nonprofits work every day in our local communities enriching our lives through the promotion of the arts and our culture, the preservation of our environment, the advancement of science and technology, and much more.

Together, we can make important and thoughtful decisions about the future of Maine. The 2011 Nonprofit Day at the State House shines a light on Maine’s essential nonprofit sector and its commitment to work with state government to restructure our systems in a thoughtful way.

Broadreach Family & Community Services is pleased to have been selected to participate in the annual event sponsored and hosted by the Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP) along with the following organizations:
• Augusta Food Bank, Augusta
• Broadreach Family & Community Services, Belfast
• Camp CaPella, Holden
• Hospice of Southern Maine, Scarborough

• Maine Sea Coast Mission, Bar Harbor
