Broadreach Family & Community Services is seeking a local, community focused and passionate individual to join their organization as Executive Director. For over thirty years, Broadreach Family & Community Services has provided educational, health and social service programs for the residents of Waldo, Knox, and Lincoln Counties in Maine.

The Executive Director oversees day-to-day agency operations, including fiscal management, HR, programs and services, grants and contracts, advocacy, and fundraising. With support of the Agency’s Board of Directors, management, staff, and Community Partners, ensures Broadreach’s success in achieving its mission, vision, and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Administration and Development

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of Agency, both Administrative and Programmatic.
  • Monitors and assures integrity of internal program operations and assist in the development and implementation of new programs and services.
  • Ensures agency compliance with Federal, State, County and city codes, procedures, and standards.
  • Reports to the Board of Directors in a timely manner all pertinent information of significance, including the progress of achieving mission, vision, and strategic and operational goals.
  • Participates in regular management and program meetings, while working in partnership with the Management Team to assure implementation of Broadreach Strategic and Operational Plan & Goals.
  • Reviews and approves public and internal agency communications, including staff memos, press releases, social media postings, promotional brochures, job postings, official Agency correspondence, and Annual Reports.
  • Advocates for Broadreach’s mission, vision, and core values throughout the agency, community and state; supervises and maintains positive relationships with public and professional community, acting as a liaison by sitting on statewide/community boards, committees, etc.; represents the Agency to funders, the Legislature, and Congressional Delegation as an advocate for children and families and related services.
  • Maximizes employee performance and morale by modeling and promoting a culture of transparency, respect, fairness, accountability, and collaboration across the Agency.
  • Represents Agency staff to Board of Directors and Board committees.
  • With support of HR consultant and Management Team, assures compliance with all applicable laws, safety codes, contract requirements, Agency policies, and best practices in hiring, training, orienting, supervising, evaluating, compensating, developing, and improving the performance of staff.

 

Financial Management

  • Works with Director of Finance to assure Agency’s fiscal health.
  • Supervises Director of Finance in developing, monitoring, and recommending course corrections to Annual Agency Budget.
  • Assures the Agency uses best-practice financial management practices.
  • Guides the Fundraising staff in creating a realistic and achievable annual budget and plan to cover Board-approved Agency subsidies and unfunded program needs.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • BA in Special Education or Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Business/Finance/Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree and professional licensure (e.g., LCSW) preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively-responsible administrative experience in social services, with specific background in P&L responsibility, HR operations, program development & oversight, fundraising, oversight of a staff of 50+, and familiarity with the rules, regulations and funders of behavioral health, early childhood, and prevention programs in Maine.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituencies, including clients, employees, board members, funders, legislators, regulatory agencies, and the community at large.
  • Exceptional communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong passion and desire to work in the industry
