Career Opportunity- PreK Teacher

As a Broadreach PreK teacher, you will be responsible for implementing and supervising the daily operation of a nationally accredited, literacy enriched, inclusive four year old classroom in Waldo County. This program is a collaborative program with Regional School Unit 71.

Applicants must be eligible for birth through five 081 Maine Teaching Credential. A 282 Early Childhood Special Education endorsement is preferred.

Experience and Skill Requirements:  The following experience and skills are considered essential:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Emergent literacy training preferred.
  • Knowledge of Waldo and Knox County and their populations helpful.
  • Must have a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, employees, board members, regulatory agencies, and the community at large.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including oral, in writing, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional decision making and problem solving skills.

Education Requirements:  The following education requirements are considered essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Special Education or related field.
  • Preschool 081 endorsement mandatory and 282 endorsement eligibility preferred
  • Maine Department to Education (MDOE) fingerprinting and Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)
  • Maintains current certification in CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens & with TB/other health standards and provides training verification for Personnel Files

Experience in special education and experience with High Scope Curriculum, literacy education and supervision are preferred.

Rate of pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.

This position will start off as a per diem position with the potential of moving to full time as the caseload grows. Requires Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years’ experience working with  adults with mental illness; LSW and current MHRT preferred. Competitive pay with job flexibility. Career Opportunity- Full Time Waldo County CPPC Parent Partner

Broadreach has an immediate opening for a full time Parent Partner position in Waldo County, that will be based in Belfast. You will use a Peer Support model in working with families to increase child safety and decrease family stressors, while utilizing your own personal experiences. Personal experience navigating through the child welfare system is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Parent Partners will provide 1:1 coaching and emotional support to parents on their caseload by sharing their story.
  • Meet with parents in their homes 7-10 hours per month.
  • Facilitate group workshops for parents currently working on reunification.
  • Facilitate Preventative Family Team Meetings in the community.
  • Attend various community groups to represent “Parent Voice.”
  • Provide prevention referrals to families in need of assistance.
  • Accompany parents to court for support.

Requirements:

  • Experience having been a parent in, and basic knowledge of, the Department’s Child Welfare System.
  • Experience working in a Human Services setting with families in a supportive role is preferred.
  • Experience working with people of diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds is helpful.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituencies, including parents, children, regulatory agencies, and the community at large.
  • Effective communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable (per Broadreach criteria) driving record to transport clients.
  • Ability to participate in various training requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
