Career Opportunity- Part Time Preschool Program Aide

Broadreach Family & Community Services is currently seeking qualified and conscientious applicants to fill two part-time, 32 hour per week Program Aide positions to start in September.

This dynamic and integral position is ideal for individuals with experience and a passion for helping children reach their fullest potential. Under the direction of a classroom teacher, you will assist with all aspects of the delivery of high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and literacy-enriched early childhood education programs in collaboration with school district, Child Development Services and other partners.  You will serve as a floating substitute teacher, as needed. This position follows the school calendar.

Successful applicants will possess:

  • A current Maine Ed Tech III certification or provide documentation that they have at least 90 college credit hours and are eligible for Maine Department of Educational certification as an Ed Tech III
  • Satisfactory results of criminal history records check
  • Current CPR/ First Aid certification
  • Behavioral Health Professional Training completed within 1 year of date of hire
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with preschool aged children
  • A pleasant and helpful demeanor
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituencies, including clients, employees, board members, regulatory agencies, and the community at large
  • Exceptional communication skills, including oral, in writing, and presentation skills
  • Exceptional decision making, problem solving skills, time management, organization and prioritization skills

We would prefer that you have a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and experience providing inclusive developmentally appropriate practices, special education expertise in early intervention, and familiarity with High Scope Curriculum and the CDS system.
