Community Matters More
We have been nominated to participate in the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation’s
Annual grant-making initiative, Community Matters More. Our organization was one of forty eight
nonprofits nominated to appear on this year’s ballot.
Since Community Matters More was first launched in 2007, the initiative has been tremendously
successful with tens of thousands of people participating each year by casting votes for
organizations that matter most to them. Through this initiative, people all over the
state are encouraged to vote on how best to allocate $100,000 the bank has pledged to give to sixty-eight (68)
Maine, nonprofit organizations.
The ballot contains a list of 48 nonprofits as well as write-in slots. Each of the 48 nonprofits
listed on the ballot will receive at least a $1,000 grant for participating in the program, and the
top 20 write-ins that get the most public support will also receive a grant from the Bangor
Savings Bank Foundation. The eight (8) organizations among the 68 that receive the most votes
from the public will each receive $5,000.
