Adverse Childhood Experiences Summit Hosted by Broadreach, UM Cooperative Extension & Belfast Adult Education

The Adverse Childhood Experiences Summit, to be hosted by Broadreach Family & Community Services, the University of Maine Extension Service, and Belfast Adult Education will be held on Friday, April 17th from 8:30 am – 12:00 noon at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast.

Guest Speakers will be Sue Mackey- Andrews, Co-Facilitator of Maine Resilience Building Network – www.maineaces.org (go to site and explore) and Chris Trout, Founder and President of Strengths in Focus at                   www.strengthsinfocus.com.

The topics to be discussed will include:

  • The Adverse Childhood Experiences Study
  • The implications of adverse childhood experiences on early childhood and adolescent development
  • Possible long-term ramifications of Adverse Childhood Experiences over a lifetime
  • Ways in which we can promote RESILIENCE in parents, children and professionals, and in our own lives
  • The importance of building relationships

This summit is free ($10.00 donation at door to assist with expenses appreciated)
